What These Gaming Platform Market Share Statistics Show
Mobile remains the clear leader in both revenue share and player reach. Based on the latest public global platform breakdown, mobile accounts for more than half of gaming revenue and reaches far more players than either console or PC.
Console still matters heavily, especially among younger players, and Newzoo’s forecast suggests it is the fastest-growing major revenue platform in the near term. PC looks steadier, with a smaller but durable revenue share and a sizable global player base.
The broader takeaway is that gaming is increasingly a multi-platform market. Mobile is the default entry point for scale, but console and PC continue to hold strong positions among engaged players, higher-spending audiences, and younger cohorts who use more than one platform.
